| Getting Crafty: Craft Room / Home Office |

Problem
This room had become a catch-all for everything the client wanted to keep but didn’t know what to do with. There were suitcases, office and scrap booking supplies, camping gear, linens, and the list went on. There was no rhyme or reason to the contents of the room and the client spent too much time looking for things. |

Solution
We helped the client decide on a purpose for the room – a home office and craft room. We reassigned homes for items that didn’t belong in an office, encouraged a fresh coat of paint on the walls and desk, and created a room plan. First we removed the shelves above the desk as they were not functional for the client. The decision to change the floor-to-ceiling metal blinds to fresh new white blinds that fit inside the window helped bring natural light into the room. Using an existing shelving unit from the garage we containerized her many crafting supplies and used her white cabinet to house office supplies. Then we relocated the bookcase to the toy room for all of their games and puzzles. Now the client has a friendly working environment and, because we were able to incorporate her futon, she has a cozy guest bedroom as well. |
