Problem
This home office was in need of a little organizing, a little re-decorating and a little love. The client’s desk was up against a corner wall with her back to the door and no view. She had no system in place for all of her current files and day-to-day paperwork. Her bookcase was full of supplies, books and lots of personal items that don’t belong in the office. Her desk drawers and filing cabinet both needed organizing for maximum efficiency.
Her daughter’s desk area was cluttered on top and below with schoolwork, clothes, shoes, games, wrapping paper, supplies and other personal items. She had bad lighting and a hole in her side wall.

Solution
During our free consultation with the client we got a good vibe that she wanted the room to be more inviting and change was a good thing. We warmed the room up with a plant and 3 crisp new pictures on the largest wall of the room. The desk was turned to face the windows so that the client now has full view of the door and her daughter’s work area. On the shelves of the cabinet we placed matching boxes and magazine holders for all of her office supplies, thank you cards, charging cords and miscellaneous items. All charging cords and computer cords were labeled for easy reference. To help our client keep her workspace clear we created systems on the wall for current projects and some of her tools. Now she has more room to work on the desktop. We placed drawer organizers in the desk for easy access to daily important items and the filing cabinet was rearranged for maximum usage.
In her daughters desk area we put in a matching bookcase with boxes and magazine holders for storage of current items, shoes, books, magazines and a place to display important creations. We hung a picture over the hole in the wall, and gave her a new desk lamp. Under the desk we used matching boxes to hold schoolwork, games and miscellaneous items. To keep things off the work surface we gave her a similar wall system to her mother’s. On the wall beside the bookcase we put up 2 wall hooks for her to hang her jacket and purse on. And as per the clients request we didn’t dare touch her amazing art collage. Now both mom and daughter have a new space to enjoy together.
